  1. It always amazes me how UK charterers gravitate to either Croatia or Greece, as if these countries are the be all and end all. Without doubt, there is some amazing sailing and fantastic scenery to be had there, but Spain also has a great, and almost unexplored coastline. Look out to sea on pretty much any day where sailing could be good, and you will be lucky to see more than 5 boats out there. Look in any marina a long the Costas, and you’ll find them stuffed with boats that rarely move. That is such a shame. The revenues which could be generated by Spain, with a little encouragement and imagination, could be a major addition to the tourism take. Take a similar fine Saturday in the UK and a small East Coast river such as The Blackwater will be stiff with boats, both cruising and racing. My plea to the authorities is to relax the rules, and watch the euros flood in. The East Coast of Spain is a stunning facility and should be enjoyed by as many people as possible. Off my soapbox now!

    • Thanks for the comment. We need more marinas, more facilities and then we would improve employment and the tax take. Not only that, consider the extra restaurants, and other businesses which would thrive off the back of boating. Things are changing, but oh so slowly.

  2. Boat Trips From Javea. Can I just make the point that other than the canal in Javea, which is for very small boats only, there are no available resources for boat trips from Javea. Take a look at the development in Denia and see what can be achieved. Javea has the space, and it just needs the will of private investors to get the ball rolling.
